It’s (almost) Canadian Thanksgiving, my favourite time of the year.
Baked brie is one of my favourite things to bake; there’s so many things you can make with it. For Thanksgiving, I decided to make this version of baked brie that’s so simple and quick, no one will know that you baked this last minute (I won’t tell).
What you’ll need:

This recipe combines ingredients that are easy to find, and you probably already have in your pantry. Also, their are so many options to purchase for each ingredient you can really tailor it to your budget.
- 1 Brie cheese wheel (trim the rinds)
- 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar
For the maple honey sauce:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Zest of one orange
- 1/2 cup pecan halves
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
Directions:
- While you’re prepping the ingredients, go ahead and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Place the brie cheese wheel on a baking sheet, or in a brie baker (I’ve used this one from Chapters Indigo), and sprinkle the cinnamon on top.

3. Place the brie cheese wheel into the oven for 12-15 minutes, until softened, and let it cool for 5 minutes.

4. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest. Bring to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer once a foam builds, stirring occasionally (sugar burns under high heat!) for 1-2 minutes. Stir in the pecans and cranberries- I put in a little more cranberries in mine, because I like more tart.

5. Serve the brie with the maple honey sauce over the top, add a little orange zest on the top for flair, and serve with your favourite crackers or baguettes.
I’ve served up my baked brie on this wooden server, with cranberry and superseed toast from ace bakery.
That’s it! You’re done in 5 simple steps, and your guests will never know how easy this was to make.
