Happy Thanksgiving! This year, I made it back to the East Coast (on a whim) and here’s what I’m thankful for this year-it’s more than your average gratuities.

Morning coffee in my parents backyard by the ocean.
You always hear people say that they’re grateful for their friends and family at this time of year- which is a no brainer, of course, but mine holds more meaning this time.
- I’m a domestic abuse survivor, among other things, and I’m perpetually grateful for my friends and family for helping me get out of a situation where at one point, I didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
- I’m thankful for my strength and perseverance, that I had no choice but to rely on to get me to this point in my life.
- This blog. I just started it, but it’s taken me years to get the courage and make it happen- and I’m grateful for that time, because it came out exactly how I wanted without rushing it.
- I’m grateful for dance, and getting back into a studio again after 7 long years without it. I’ve been dancing since I was 3 or 4 years old, and it’s something you can’t explain in words but have to feel it and experience it for yourself. I started dancing again with my sisters at the Army Of Sass Toronto, it has taught me so much in so little time and I won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
- Last, but 100% not least, I’m thankful for the opportunity to create and share my world and design it how I choose it. Based on many (too many) events going on around the world right now, it’s put things into perspective of how blessed I am that I can create my life, in the way I choose, without having to worry.

From this short snippet of things I am grateful for, my continuous wish and message to anyone who reads my blog, or even just this post, is to pay it forward- even if it’s just a smile or hello at a stranger the ramifications of that small, and simple, gesture can change someone in ways you can’t imagine. It takes less than a second, but the impression will last all day.
See you Wednesday.

Love it all! You’re fabulous and always have been. 🙂
Thanks Ali!! I really appreciate it, that gave me the biggest smile!!
