I love manicures and nail art, it’s a fun way to treat yourself and feel better at the same time. But, just because I love it doesn’t mean I’m good at it.
I like my basics; give me a solid black or navy moment and I’m ready to takeover a board room. But, I always see amazing nail art on Instagram and would love to have my own but I’m nervous whether I will like it or not and then I’m stuck with it.

I’m showing you today how to achieve an easy nail art look, that will elevate your look without the fear of being stuck with nail art you don’t like.

- Choose any nail colour of your choice; doesn’t have to be gel! I used the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel because it’s my favourite black polish.
- Top coat; you’ll need to seal your base colour and it acts as a tacky top for the gold flakes.
- Tweeze to place the flakes. You can use your fingers, but the heat from your fingers will make the gold form to your skin and be hard to place on the nail.
- The star of the show, gold foil flakes. I got mine at Michaels in the paint section but I also found them at Dollarama in silver and gold for $1.50.

- Apply a base coat and your polish colour of choose.
- Once dry, apply a top coat (I recommend a quick dry top coat to get out of the door faster) and let it get tacky.
- Take your tweezers and gold foil flakes, and place the flakes on each nail as you please. Tap the gold flakes with the edge of your tweezers to mold and place.
- Apply a layer of top coat again to secure. Thats it!
