Two weeks ago, I packed my bags, my car and drove with my friends to our unexpected Summer destination. When I say unexpected, I mean we had other plans for our Summer but it turned out better than we had hoped.
For what seems all of Canada, we’ve all been encouraged to explore our own backyard and have a staycation. Many people, as I’m sure you remember, had mixed reactions with some disappointment and resentment (fair, because everything was cancelled).
As experience from my own covid staycation, my biggest take away is to bring extra masks (we had some people in our party forget theirs) and leave your phone inside. We all wanted these memories captured, we designated one of our friends, so we could all enjoy our time to reconnect.
My staycation went so well, we wanted to extend our stay. We were able to get out of the city, share new experiences and laugh together. This is something we will all remember; remember it for being a strange time but we will remember how much fun we had and the stories we shared.
