Halloween is one of my favourite times of the year; I love to create and see how I can create something, and Halloween is the perfect time for that. This year, I’ve mixed up this cocktail for those who can’t go out trick or treating, or for those who are spending Halloween, like me, watching scary movies on Netflix.
Out of all the recipes I want to share with you on the blog, I want to make sure they’re easy for you to recreate, and they have accessible ingredients and equipment needed. This cocktail is the simplest recipe I’ve posted on here so far, all you need is 3 ingredients (possibly 4, but I’ll explain that down below).
What you’ll need:

- 1/4 cup of apple cider
- 30 ml of pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup of tequila
- Dry ice chips- this ingredient is optional, because it’s hard to come across in small quantities (although, I would try to find it to impress your guests and give that extra spooky feel). If you do want to use dry ice in this cocktail here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Put the dry ice in the cocktail before you pour in the rest of the ingredients, and then once it’s in you can put in the other liquid ingredients- don’t consume the drink while the dry ice is still visibly “smoking”, it’s not meant to be ingested, this is for pure looks. But once it’s gone, drink up!
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients into a martini shaker with a few ice cubes
- Shake the mix, and then strain into a chilled glass.
And that’s it! You can add garnishes to the rim of the glass to add some extra flair- I added apple rings, and these sticks I found from Michael’s.

Please only consume this drink if you’re of legal drinking age in your region.
