The Best Summer Travel Dress

After spending some much needed time on the East coast with family, friends (and the ocean) I’m sharing with you one of the best pieces you can have while traveling.

During the Summer, I love dresses; any style, colour, shape- it’s more than likely in my closet. I also travel a lot, so that means I’m limited on what I can take with me and I’m always bringing things back with me so I need to save space.

This style of dress can take you through any event you’re facing while traveling. It has a smocked bodice, tiered bottom that’s just sheer enough to beat the heat with lots of fabric to twirl the night away.

But what sold me on this dress (besides the extra fabric to twirl in) was that it doesn’t wrinkle. Having a piece like this when you’re traveling in the Summer will save you on so many occasions when you don’t have access to a steamer or iron, and it’s forgiving when you need to cram in that hand-painted landscape as a souvenir.

You can style a piece like this with basically anything in your closet, which makes an easier decision when looking to pack.

Here’s some of my style suggestions with a piece similar to this, that are easy to pack:

Wedding

• Pair a fun metallic heel that are easy to switch out to an equally fun pair of sandals.
• Bring a shawl that you can cover your shoulders if the event is outside to avoid burning or to keep warm at night (and something extra to twirl around)
• Bring a fun hair clip or pair earrings that will bring an extra touch of personality to your outfit, that doesn’t take up space in your precious suitcase real estate.

Touring

• Bring a pair of white sneakers (think Converse, Keds or Sam Smith) while touring what the city has to offer, and getting that perfect photo op that’ll look like you did it for the ‘gram.
• Wear a solid coloured backpack or crossbody bag that will keep your hands free and give you space for all those unique finds.
• Bring the fun hair clip, sunglasses or earrings; they don’t take up space and will give it something extra when you take the obligatory vacation photo.

A night out on the town

• Combine and match any piece from what you brought for the wedding or tours and you’ll have a brand new outfit that’s perfect for twirling the night away.
• Remember the fun hair clip, earrings and the bag? Bring those too! The pieces will be unique enough and when combined from your past outfits you’ll add to the new outfit and still become a suitcase space saver.

For the last month of Summer, have fun enjoy the warm weather and take as many photos as you can.
