With August drawing to a close this week, and the sun slowly starting to set a little earlier each day, I wanted to show you this week how to transition your Summer style to Fall.

I know not everyone does this, a lot of people keep it simple and switch out their Summer closets when there’s a chill in the air and the leaves are on the ground. But, I’ve also found that those same people look forward to buying new pieces during this time of year, but aren’t quite sure how to style them.

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be showing you styles that function as transitional outfits but can still keep you cool for the warm weather. This week, I’m sharing with you this look I pulled together from Zara.

This dress is a great piece to add to your transitional closet for its minor details; this dress has a textured weave so it will keep you warm when you’re heading off to work in the mornings, and it’s ballon style sleeves will offer the addition of keeping you warm, while allowing for you to be cool once the day warms up.

As well, the colour is what really makes it scream ‘Fall’; this brick rust colour will be showing up everywhere and makes for a great basic colour to pair with any sandal and later with a hat or cardigan vest.
As you’re shopping for new pieces to add to your closet, my biggest recommendation is to purchase pieces that can pair with multiple pieces in your closet as the weather is changing. Go with a great basic in a Fall colour and pair the accessories with the weather; it’s an easy way to put together an outfit in a hurry and softens the impending change.
