I’m a skincare junkie as much as I am a coffee addict (which in hindsight is probably a good thing, to balance out all that coffee drinking), and I’m always looking to try the newest skincare trends and products. Since the weather is getting colder, and the coffee flow is not stopping any time soon, I’ve complied my top 5 favourite sheet masks from Sephora to help fight dry skin in the colder months.
Dr. Jart+ Rubber Clean Skin Lover Mask

What it claims to do: Derived from algae, this mask provides a cooling benefit while tightening pores, decreasing blemishes, and reducing oiliness that will fight breakouts and soothe skin. The mask is made from rubber to avoid the active ingredients from evaporating, allowing for deeper penetration into the pores.
Pros: It stays in place while the mask works it’s magic! I was wearing this mask while I was setting up to shoot it and it stayed in place the entire time while I was setting up my tripod. It also had product leftover, that they suggested in the directions to use on your neck and arms.
Cons: There’s two pieces to this sheet mask; one of the upper half of your face (nose to forehead), and a bottom portion. If you’re more of a one step kind of gal, then I recommend moving onto another sheet mask. As you can see in the picture below, it didn’t adhere well to my nose area; I tried a few times to set it in place by pushing and spreading it out more but nothing worked.
Would I repurchase it: Maybe. I think the concept of it is unique, but for the price point I have used sheet masks for a lower price with more results. I think using rubber as a material to keep the active ingredients from evaporating and going further into the pores is an inventive approach to skin care.

Glamglow Bubblesheet Mask

What it claims to do: This carbonated fizzy foam mask removes dirt, excess oil, and makeup buildup. The translucent cleanser begins the oxygenating transformation into a face-forming foam cushion and 3-D microbubbles foam in all directions for the ultimate detox. The black bamboo charcoal sheet is infused with a microbubbling cleanser, featuring Green Tea Teaoxi technology and the essential amino acid l-arginine for radiant skin (sephora.ca).
Pros: It does multiple things in one, and lives up to it’s claim. I noticed a glow in my skin, tighter pores, reduced redness, and overall felt refreshed and energized. With everything it did, I think it’s a steal for $12! It’s a quick 3-minute mask that you can put on in the morning if you’re running late and don’t have time for your full skincare routine.
Cons: The foaming bubbles can get into your hair, so I recommend that you place the mask down lower than you think it needs to be on your face.
Would I repurchase it: YES. This sheet mask was my favourite out of all the sheet masks I tried; I thought the concept of it was unique, with the ability to cleanse your face like your run of the mill facial cleanser. I did see results from it as soon as I washed off the excess bubbles, and notice a reduction in redness.

Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Cotton Mask

What it claims to do: This sheet mask helps with redness, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles- it’s great for all skin types, and is free from 10 harmful ingredients such as artificial fragrance and colour.
Pros: The mask had great area coverage and didn’t slide around. It delivered on it’s claim and reduced my redness and improved my dry areas. This mask had more calming effects and I felt instantly better when I put it on.
Cons: I don’t really have any cons for this product, it’s a great product for all skin types and especially those with sensitive skin.
Would I repurchase it: Yes, although it wouldn’t be my first choice. Out of typical cotton sheet masks I’ve tried, this sheet mask had lots of product on the mask, and leftover, and it smelled really good.

Too Cool for School Egg Cream Mask: Hydration

What it claims to do: This mask offers the full hydration experience, covering areas of dryness, dullness and uneven texture, and dark spots and uneven skin tone. The masks contains coconut water, egg extracts, niacinamide, and other botanical extracts to deliver hydration, nourishment, and brightening benefits.
Pros: After I used this mask, I felt like I had been drenched with water. If you have dry skin like I do, you need to try this mask and keep it on hand (it’s only $8!). It was packed with product and it stayed in place while I was letting the goodness soak into my pores. The smell was subtle and you couldn’t tell that they used eggs in the ingredients for this mask, and it took care of some subtle spots I had on my face.
Cons: You should be careful opening the packet; when I say there’s a lot of product, there’s A LOT of product which can make for a messy application if you’re not careful. Compared to other sheet masks, the cutouts are not as big so you might have to do some readjusting to get it to sit properly on your face.
Would I repurchase it: Yes. Yes. Yes. This mask is a must for those of us with dry skin, and is great to have on hand as a go to product.
Sephora Algae Face Mask

What it claims to do: Constructed with natural lyocell fibres, this sheet mask is infused with algae to detoxify the skin to reveal a fresh and radiant complexion.
Pros: There’s a lot of product to work with, and has good facial coverage. I’ve always found with Sephora sheet masks I can see results right away, and this sheet mask is no different. My skin is brighter and my complexion is more even after using this product. This product is great for stocking up on, and travelling with at it’s low cost of $8.
Cons: Although it has good facial coverage, I always find that Sephora’s sheet masks slip around in comparison to other brands sheet masks. I would recommend to use this sheet mask when you’re winding down for the day, as the product is thick.
Would I repurchase it: Yes. Sephora’s skin care line has been expanding, and is a great line of cost effective products containing everything you need for a full skin care routine. I always stock up on these sheet masks, and other masks they offer, to have on hand whenever I need a little pick me up.
Since I’m a skincare junkie, I’m always looking to try new products! If there’s any that you love or think I should try, let me know! I’ll be posting more skincare posts in the future.
